Nolo Legal Glossary Is There A Document Template For Getting Your Rental Deposit Back In California?

Is there a document template for getting your rental deposit back in California? - nolo legal glossary

21 days have passed. No detailed list was given. Legally entitled to full refund of deposit. Is there a good Nolo self-help model out there or someone says with a good part of the legislation in a letter that stated the law.

Thanks in advance.

Yes there is. Find here: http://www.dca.ca.gov/legal/landlordbook ...
When it was over twenty days, the right has lost all retained from the deposit.
Send a letter of application immediately. If no response is an action in small claims tribunal for the file, plus twice the legal deposit of damages in bad faith to the extent permitted by law.

I know of no place on the web that an employee like that, but I really recommend you talk to a lawyer first, because the shortcomings of a model can not be invisible to get what you want.

This was the first to call and ask?

Perhaps he had his new address and the transfer takes time.

Or you can write something like this:

Expensive,

For more than 21 days passed since I returned is the key to the house / apartment _________________.

Please send a report to submit along with my reconciliation with my check to the following address:

\\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ U0026lt; insert name and address here>

As I'm sure you know the national law provides that the owner of the deposit back or a detailed list of deductions to the tenant within 21 days of returning to the property / lease order.

The penalty for the security not return money on time, the loss of security deposit deductions. Please note http://www.dca.ca.gov/legal/landlordbook ...

I hope to advise me of the status of the deposit and if you have not already done so, we'll send it immediately.

Best regards,

All you need is your original contract and write a letter to the owner told him to meet the requirements and the amount of your deposit of $ want to go back to (insert address).

More communication might be what you need. 21 days is not long when you are busy. This could be a simple control.
